The Ilyushin 76, owned by the Russian Ministry of Interior, took off from Mirny, Russia, on a positioning flight to Irkutsk, Russia. 4 passengers and 7 crewmembers were onboard. The plane was destroyed when it crashed immediately after takeoff, killing the 11 people onboard.

The Ilyushin 76 transport plane took off from Mirny Airport. The airplane climbed to a height of 20-30 metres. It banked right and crashed about 1,5 km from the runway.
