The MI-2 hits a tree after takeoff

What happens in this video ?

This Mi-2 crash took place in Sweden while giving a ride to a man celebrating his 100th birthday. Conditions were hot, and the helicopter was heavily loaded. They apparently suffered control problems from the start, yet the pilot inexplicably decided to continue his departure, and hit a tree. Everyone survived the crash, but the centenarian succumbed to his injuries a few days later.

When you fly, every pilot knows you complete a Weight and Balance sheet. If the weight and Balance are out of the envelope, you Don't Fly. Temperature figures into that equation as well. My condolences to the family of the Centarian.

Apparently the pilot suffered a loss of power immediately on taking off, due to an engine problem. You can read the accident report at the link below. http://www.saib.se/virtupload/news/rl2007_15e.pdf

Well the heli is clearly overloaded. The pilot may have thought he'd manage to climb and get control while translating forward. Then he touches ground with one wheel leading to dynamic flip so blades touching ground. Bad pilot.
