Boeing 737 landing gear failure

What happens in this video ?

The Boeing 737 from Piedmont airlines, with 106 people aboard, was flying from Washington to Charlotte, N.C., when the crew could not get the main left landing gear down. It was diverted to Greensboro for an emergency landing. The crew brought the aircraft onto the runway as slow as possible, and managed to land. No one was injured.
Investigators have found that rubber wheel blocks were left in the gear well, jamming the left gear in up position.

I do not think the first time was an attempt to bang-free the gear. Looks more to a go-around to me, maybe they did not have the right line up on the runway?

This happened in Greensboro, N. C. not Charlotte, N. C. And yes someone put a large rubber tire chock in the wheel well which jammed the gear from coming down.

The attempt to try to bang the gear down was absolutely idiotic, and needlessly endagered the aircraft and it's passengers. The potential consequences of mishandling that untested maneuver were far worse than a gear-up landing.

THE CREW AND PASSENGERS COULD'VE ALL LOST THIER LIVES BECAUSE THE IDIOT'S DIDN'T REMOVE THE RUBBER BLOCKS THAT WERE LEFT IN THE LANDING-GEAR. THEY ALL DESERVED TO BE FIRED INCLUDING THE SUPERVISOR. THAT IS SO CARELESS. WHAT'S THE BIG RUSH?
