The plane was on a passenger flight to Wuhan, China. It crashed onto a riverbank after being struck by lightning while on approach to Wuhan Airport. Seven workers installing generators on a boat were killed when wreckage of the aircraft impacted the boat. The aircraft had circled Wuhan Airport for 30 minutes as heavy thunderstorms passed through the area. All the 44 people onboard were killed.
