Lake Victoria, UgandaThe Ilyushin IL-76 cargo plane owned by the Russian-based Aerolift international cargo company was chartered by Dynacorp to transport tents and water purification equipment for the African Peace Mission to Somalia. 7 passengers and 4 crewmembers were onboard. The plane took off from Entebbe Airport, Uganda, bound for Mogadishu International Airport, Somalia. The IL-76 crashed into Lake Victoria shortly after takeoff, killing all the people onboard.
