The Antonov An-32 operating a passenger flight in Angola was accelerating for takeoff when the crew encountered difficulty controlling the aircraft on the ground. Available information indicates a braking-system problem while the pilots were also attempting to avoid major defects in the runway surface.

The aircraft left the runway and broke apart while crossing a severely uneven area. The accident caused several fatalities among the occupants.

Investigation findings

We did not locate a publicly accessible official final report capable of determining the respective role of a braking-system failure, the runway condition and the crew's actions. These elements should therefore remain described as reported circumstances rather than as a definitively established official cause.
