Presque Isle, ME, USAThe Embraer ERJ-145 operated by CommutAir on behalf United Express took off from Newark, NJ, USA for a passenger flight to Presque Isle, ME, USA. 28 passengers and 3 crewmembers were onboard. The plane slid off the right side of the runway just after landing. All gear collapsed. The plane stopped next to the runway, in snow. A pilot and three passengers received minor injuries.

In a first attempt to land, the crew had to perform a go around from about 1500 feet above ground level. Then, the aircraft positioned for another approach. The plane hard landed on the runway and veered right off the runway. The ERJ-145 sustained substantial damage. The left undercarriage legs separated and became embedded between the fuselage and the left engine inlet.

Weather conditions at the time of the accident were poor, with overcast clouds at 1300 ft, snow falls and negative temperature.
