Central American Airways Let 410UVP plane crash

The Let 410, operated by Central American Airways (CAA), took off from the northern city of San Pedro Sula, Honduras, for a passenger flight to Toncontin International Airport in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. 12 passengers and two crewmembers were onboard. The plane crash during the approach to the destination airport, killing all 14 people onboard.
The plane was approaching runway 02 on Tegucigalpa's International Airport. Once cleared for landing, the pilots began descending toward the runway, at which time communication with the control tower was lost. Rescuers were alerted, and the crash site was located south of Tegucigalpa at the top of a mountain, near the town of Santa Ana. The plane crashed about three miles (five kilometers) south of the airport.
The area where the plane crashed was a mountaintop some 2,000 feet (600 meters) above sea level, Triminio. At the time of the accident, the visibility was poor, with lot of fog reported.
