An Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, carrying 242 people, crashed just seconds after takeoff from Ahmedabad, India, en route to London. Following an initial climb lasting approximately 12 seconds, the aircraft experienced a sudden loss of altitude and impacted a residential area. The crash resulted in the deaths of 241 occupants, with only one survivor. Numerous ground casualties have also been reported. This marks the first fatal accident involving a Boeing 787 aircraft.
