About this video

Video capturing the final moment of the Azerbaijan Airlines Embraer ERJ-190, on December 25th 2024. The plane crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, after the crew had reported an emergency 30 minutes earlier, indicating that they were having difficulty controlling the aircraft. With 67 onboard, 38 perished, and 29 survived. The aircraft experienced control issues, fluctuating speed and altitude, before crashing 1.6 NM from Aktau’s airport. A survivor reported an explosion and shrapnel, with post-crash evidence suggesting missile impact. Fire consumed much of the wreckage, but the tail section remained intact, revealing open service doors mid-flight and damage consistent with external force.
